Some Weird Sin is a small-town literary magazine for small-time
writers based in Central Ohio. Our goal is to give a window to the
literary scene for aspiring writers who are struggling to make a name
for themselves. We look to offer publication to those who have racked
up the rejection letters and are growing weary of writing wasted cover
letters. We are especially interested in giving a voice to the very
talented younger generation of writers who often are not taken too
seriously because of their age and lack of experience. As we are a
small-town publication, we also seek to publish as many local writers as
possible. Periodically we post interviews with featured writers who are, generally, writers who have submitted to us and have impressed us with not just their writing, but also with the details they have provided in their submission e-mail (see: Submission Guidlines). Expect an even balance between established writers and new voices. To us, all writers are on the same page (bad pun very much intended), which is why you will never see any author bios, past publications, awards, etc. listed along with their published piece. We have published the likes of well-known writers Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, Taylor Mali, Gus Wood, Alexis-Rueal, and Hanif Abdurraqib, as well as up-and-coming writers Jacob Forquer, Betty Doyle, Kelsey Phillis, Evan Carr, and Maria Lammy.
This is an online and print publication, with a very limited print. Beginning with Issue 3, printed copies are limited edition and all hand-numbered, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting a different charitable cause. We are not in this to make money. Past issues will always be made available online to download for free. Current and past issues can be purchased online here. The current issue will sporadically be made available online to download for free in various limitations (i.e. it may or may not be the entire issue). Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for announcements in that regards.
We seek to publish high-quality, polished creative writings. For more details, please see the Submission Guidelines.
